Pratt & Whitney PT6 Engine Mechanic
The principle duties of this position are to perform all activities associated with the disassembly, inspection and assembly of gas turbine power plant. This position will require the incumbent to perform disassembly, inspection, assembly, clean, and engine test duties using a variety of production tooling and equipment to accomplish these functions.
This position requires practical application of technical knowledge and strong numerical and reading skills to interpret complex work instructions.
Excellent interpersonal, planning and organizational skills are needed for a team oriented environment.
As a turbine engine mechanic, shall also have knowledge in troubleshooting engines, rigging engine controls, and working experience with engine common and special tools.
Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.
Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems.
Safely prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.
Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections.
Performs limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.
Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
Mechanic applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft Technical Manuals, Maintenance Information and Action Messages and all technical guidance provided.
Individuals must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
Individual must have basic knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
Requires individual to make entries in aircraft logs and records
Engine disassembly/assembly - Perform mechanic duties to disassemble and assemble engines, engine sections and accessories.
Clean - Perform cleaning of engine parts and components
Inspection - Inspect engines, engine sections, accessories and component parts to determine serviceability and reparability.
Prior borescope certifications desired.
Ability to use and interpret electronic technical manuals preferred.
Ability to lift, push, pulls heavy objects needed.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
• A&P License

Experience Requirements

• 5 years or more overhaul and repair experience on the Pratt & Whitney PT 6 Turbine Engines with one or more of the following disciplines:

Disassembly, Inspection, Assembly, or Clean

Qualifications

Must be willing to work all shifts
• FAA Safety Sensitive Position
• NDT Experience Desired
• US Citizen
