Inventory Control Planner/Parts Room Assistant Job Description

Location:  San Juan, PR

Full Time / Direct Position / 2nd Shift

AS a part of the Aircraft Maintenance Team, the Parts Room Assistant will receive incoming items; verify the count of the incoming stock with invoices and purchases orders; transfer inventory to its location in the storage facility or to shelves; periodically check remaining inventory and reorder as needed; affix identification; prepare kits and release purchase orders; help internal customers or other inventory workers find specific items; and input inventory data into computerized system.



  • Perform visual validation of received material to description and package details from original purchase order.
  • Stock shelves, racks, cases and bins with new, returned or transferred material.


Prepare kits.  Prepare reports.


  • Perform physical inventory verification (cycle and physical counts) and report inventory inaccuracies. Investigate and report reasons for discrepancies.


  • Pack materials in bags or cartons.
  • Transport packages from Inventory area to Shipping area.
  • Pack and prepare for delivery or pick up of material packages according to instructions.


  • Organize and maintain storage space and arrangements, and stock on a daily basis to maintain a clean and safe workplace. Keep material in order and neat in appearance.
  • Prepare list of depleted items and recommends survey of detective or unusable items.
  • Check inventory periodically to determine reordering needs and verify with records; requisitions standard stock items within established limits; notify designated staff of fast moving
  • Assist in handling returned Cores off the maintenance floor for tagging, packing and shipping back to the appropriate


  • Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment:
  • Issues tools and equipment to aircraft mechanics and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned, manually or using computer
  • Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment
  • Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment, manually or using computer.
  • Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  • Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and follows the tool calibration program.
  • Repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment.
  • Delivers tools and equipment to workers manually, as well as using hand truck and forklift
  • May mark and identify tools and equipment, using identification tag, stamp, or electric marking tool.




Education Requirements

HS Diploma or Equivalent

Experience Requirements

Pay negotiable and dependent on applicant experience.


Bilingual:  Must speak, read and write Spanish and English
