Lead Mechanic/OJT Trainer


Under general supervision of the Director of Maintenance,

To assist Milwaukee Maintenance base in maintaining our Outbase fleet of aircraft.

The diagnosis, repair and inspection of aircraft, will also be responsible for the training and providing work direction and guidance to our Outbase technicians while performing work at the Out base.

Must have Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P License)

Must have 5 to 10 years’ experience with Shorts Brother Aircraft, King Air and/or Pratt & Whitney PT6 Engines

Must be willing to relocate



Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance performed on ACC aircraft.

Assist in the authorization and tracking of scheduled maintenance.

Ensure that mechanical delays are handled in a safe manner and in accordance with ACC’s maintenance manual.

Act as liaison for maintenance performed on company aircraft by contract crews away from primary maintenance base.

Authorize maintenance discrepancies to be placed on deferral.  Ensure all deferrals are accomplished in accordance with ACC’s maintenance manual and FAR.

Train, assist, and supervise department personnel in proper work procedures and practices.

Monitor the condition of the maintenance shops, hangar, and ramp area to assure they are serviceable and in good condition.

Perform all necessary supervisory functions to effectively manage assigned personnel

Periodically audit and review publications to determine whether format or content changes/updates are required and recommend revisions.

Answering afterhours Calls (MX Control) and helping Mechanics troubleshoot issues on an on call basis 7 to 10 days a month.

Ensure that mechanical delays are handled in a safe and expeditious manner in accordance with ACC’s maintenance manual.

Coordinate appropriate ACC personnel and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in order to expedite aircraft return to service including maintenance planning and dispatch.

Responsible for completing and distributing all applicable forms and documents in accordance with procedures set forth in the ACC maintenance procedures manual and help improve and develop a training process flow that can be standardized across the Maintenance department.

Provide point of contact and control for maintenance performed on company aircraft away from main maintenance base by ACC personnel or contract maintenance.

Perform routine scheduled maintenance and inspection of aircraft in accordance with ACC’s and current manufacturers specifications.

Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damages components.

Modifies aircraft systems or components following drawings, engineering orders and technical publications

Assemble and install electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand tools and power tools.

Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs to minimize aircraft downtime.

Recommend changes in policies and standards based on knowledge of operating conditions, aircraft improvements and other factors.

Train, assign and observation of the work of mechanic helper and mechanics

Must Have:

  • HS/GED
  • Valid Driver's license and clear Driving Record

  • Must be able to pass background check and obtain Airport Badge
